CEA Horse Shows
Each of the seven clubs who make up the Coastal Empire Association host two shows each show season, which runs from October through May (dependent upon weather & rescheduled shows).
We have two types of horse shows, running shows and pleasure shows. The running shows are comprised of the timed events such as barrels, poles and cones. The riders who correctly ride each class pattern and have the fastest time place the highest in the running events. The pleasure shows are made up of judged classes such as halter, Western & English Pleasure, Reining, Racking, Showmanship and horsemanship. The horse & rider teams that perform the best, in the judge’s eye, place the highest in these classes.
Both, the running shows and the pleasure shows, are grouped by age level as well as the horse and / or rider ability.
Our shows are open shows and we welcome anyone to participate. CEA members who compete and place, earn points at each class they have placed in. These points are calculated cumulatively and are used to qualify the top six riders in each class with the highest points at the end of the show season to compete at our annual State Show Championship, held each Labor Day weekend in Perry, GA at the Georgia National Fairgrounds, against the top riders from the other Associations belonging to the Georgia Federation of Saddle Clubs (those participating who are not members do not earn points and cannot qualify to compete at the state show).
We are a family based group and focus on allowing everyone to have fun and enjoy themselves while learning the joy and excitement of competition.

As a courtesy, the below spreadsheets have been develooped to make sign ups, class placing, high point awards and financial tracking easier for the clubs on show days. Feel free to download & use either of the below files at your shows. After your shows, be sure to email the file back to ga_cea@live.com.
If you have any questions about how the files work, contact Shannon Sykes.
For the pleasure shows, you will need to make sure you have the most up to date version so that your back numbers are correct and we don't end up with duplicates.
Clubs- PLEASE send an email to Shannon Sykes (ga_cea@live.com) with any new numbers issued at your shows so the electronic version can be kept up to date for each show. Thank you!!
